Christmas through the eyes of your children is so much better than anything in the entire world! It’s that time of year where things start to get crazy because you want to cram in all the holiday cheer. This past weekend was no different for us. Unfortunately our only snag was the little guy was sick with bronchitis. So we took the kids to this giant light display at the Jackson Fair grounds. Really I have never seen anything like it. Sammie of course thought it was the coolest because she got to sit on mommy’s lap. Gavin was just excited to be out of his car seat. As we are driving through Micky and I are talking about why we celebrate Christmas. Sammie says, “duh it’s baby Jesus birthday”. We look at each other and I know we are both thinking whew we did something right. We come across the nativity scene and Sammie says, “who are those people?” I look, “oh those are the three wise men and they brought baby Jesus gifts. They brought frankincense, myrrh and mommy can’t seem to remember the third gift. Daddy do you remember?” Daddy looks at me, “gosh nope I can’t”. Sammie bust in, “umm well I think he brought a Hot Dog.” She says it in her little Sammie way full of all the confidence in the world. Micky looks and says, “honey baby Jesus was just a baby he can’t eat hot dogs.” She looks right back at him, “daddy begin born is a lot of work and baby Jesus needed a hot dog”. There really isn’t any way of arguing with her!

Sick, Sick, Sick...
It just the start of the holiday season and we of course have to start it out with some excitement. Gavin is again sick. Of course like any good little child he doesn't get just a tiny little cold. Oh gets bronchitis almost pneumonia. It’s nothing a good round of antibiotics and a new nebulizing machine won't take care of right. Oh the up side you almost can't tell he’s sick. He is full of smiles even at 6am when daddy is yelling at him for getting up so early. We plan to spend the weekend getting rid of the germs. We might get around to putting up the Christmas tree too.
Here are a couple of pictures. The first is of us at the light parade the day after thanksgiving. Gavin’s smile is so BIG. The second he's just a stinker and I loved his face.
Hope to have reports of healthy kids next week!

HOLY COW a new POST!
Okay so it's been a LONG TIME since I have made a post. I would say I have been really busy but truth be told I simply have just forgotten. Only recently have I realized the importance of making these posts. If I document the simply everyday events now my kids will have them in the future. (Oh yes Kids because Gavin has come along since I have last posted....8 months ago!) So I'm trying to take on my mommy role to remember the fun and not so fun things that have been going on in our little lives.
I'll try to recap the last 8 exciting months! The biggest event of course is Gavin's birth. Does any mother ever forget that day? I remember we had Pizza for dinner! Gavin entered the world and remained nameless for 12 long hours. Of course we had visitors a the whole day and just couldn't decide. Once he was named of course everyone LOVED it!
The next six months were spent with lots and lots of family time! We certainly enjoyed most of that time. I still can't get use to 2:30am wake up calls! We did take advantage of the time by visiting friends and family. One highlight was our trip to the Detroit Zoo. Sammie loved every moment and the bonus we got to see Jon, Roberta and little Avery.
We certainly did lots of normal family things like visiting the state parks with Grandpa, dance recitals and playing soccer at the Y with Colin.
This was the weeking mommy wouldn't leave Muskegon! We ended up staying with Grandma and Grandpa for 4 days. Oh it was fun time. I'm sure my parents we ready for us to go home.
Dance June
Gavin was doing a lot of sleeping and growing during all of this. Mommy was stressing out because of course Gavin is so different from Samantha. I was of course worried I was breaking him. He's a strong little guy who loves to play and more than anything lights up when his sister walks into a room. Of course she commands attention but he is more than willing to provide her with all of his! He's now 8 1/2 months old and almost walking. He's been teething since he was about 4 months old with no teeth yet! We keep saying any day now...mommy is really kind of scared for that day but it's coming.
Just 8 months old here at cousin Isabelle's 1st birthday party.
Just had to add this one the three cousins.
Samantha, Riley and Brock I could just squeeze them all!
Okay until next time which I will try not to make more than 8 months away!

Big girl beds and Bellys....
Since I have made mention of the big girl room I thought maybe it might be time to show off some pictures. You can't really tell in the pictures but Sammie's room is a light purple. The daybed is a hand me down from Uncle Bud and Aunt Jeanie...THANK YOU!!! We still have to add a dresser and get the closet cleaned out but no rush baby isn't due for 8 more weeks right? LOL
Thank you for the smile.Okay mommy must get in the picture.
Daddy wanted to take a belly picture and Sammie had to show off her baby belly too! Mommy's is still bigger. And yes Sammie is still in a diaper...potty training is NOT happening at our house. Sam is going to be the only college student I know still wearing diapers. I thought girls were suppose to be easier? NOT TRUE! Everyone tells me it will happen when she wants to make it happen. Of course the people telling me this don't have red heads! Sammie is very bull headed...huh wonder where she gets that from.......

Wedding fun...
Well we made it through the big wedding! Sammie's aunt Megan got married this weekend and what fun. Sammie was an angel and I'm not just saying that because I'm her mom. She never once had a melt down. Never fought with either of her parents we were both very proud of her. She of course LOVED the camera. The only half melt down was when she tried to take her hair out but mostly that was because it was starting to hurt her. I only have just a few photos because well daddy and I were both in the wedding and for some reason super busy! Thank goodness for my in-laws they made sure Sammie was where she needed to be at all times. Here are a few of the photos....
Grandpa and Sammie talking about the days events.
Megan and Jason cutting the yummiest cake ever!
Our little peanut looking so cute!
Grandma and all of her girls....Her 5 Grand-daughters and 2 Great Grand-Daughters. Notice all the red heads a group of very determined woman huh?Me, Dad, Mom and Megan. You can't tell my belly and Dad's look to be about the same size.
There she is...she had this cute little smile on all day.
Hope you enjoyed. We sure had a fun time at the wedding but are certainly very tired.
